Superintendent's Message

Dear Community Members:

As you may know, the River Trails Board of Education authorized the development of a three year Strategic Plan in effect from 2014 – 2017. Forty-nine dedicated individuals including community members, parents, staff, and school board members participated in the creation of the plan document to help chart the future of District 26.

The diligence and foresight of our school district and community stakeholders reaffirmed the existing Mission Statement and Belief Statements, and created or reaffirmed Vision Statements in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Technology, Human Resources, Leadership, Public Relations and Communications, and Finance. Each Vision Team has also created Goals and Action Steps that reinforce those Goals.

We have now entered our third year of the Strategic Plan, and on January 3, 2017, the administrative team presented a status report Year 3 Goals to the Board.

A digital copy of the 2014-2017 Strategic Plan Board Presentation is located on our strategic planning page. On the district website hover over “District Info” and on the drop down menu select “Strategic Plan” to view all Strategic Plan documents. I encourage you to take time to read these documents and familiarize yourself with this important planning tool for our District.

Regards,

Dane Delli, Ph.D.
Superintendent

On January 24, 2013, Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law extending sexual abuse education in Illinois schools. The Illinois law went into effect immediately and schools are required to implement Erin’s Law during the 2014-2015 school year. Erin’s Law requires all schools to provide child sexual prevention education for all students, K-12, yearly. The law also requires educators to take part in training classes that cover sexual abuse and how to recognize warning signs.
